yard sale cds.
so while on my one day trip to vermont, I went for a run and came across a small yard sale going on up the street from my grandma’s house. I ended up talking to the guy for a while. He was probably in his mid to late 20’s and was a former radio dj so he had a ton of cds from super obscure indie bands. I found a couple of albums from bands I knew and then I asked him for a few random...

my first punch from a stranger
so today marks the first day (and hopefully the last) that I got punched by a stranger. Intrigued?
So I was exiting port authority bus terminal around 1:45 pm on my way to work and right as I walked out the door, a large man came from out of nowhere on my right side and punched my back really hard while screaming “why wouldn’t you be my girlfriend??”. All i did was say...
a sort of handy but badly organized flow chart for...
nedhepburn:
1. are you tired? if yes, go to question 2. if no, go to question 3.
2. are you tired in a way that you want to listen to Tom Waits and drink rum alone? if yes, question 4. if no, question 5.
3. OK. lets get one thing straight. are you The Fonz right now now or are you The Last Four Belle & Sebastian Albums kind-of-wanting-to-go-out? Fonz, go to 6. Belle & Sebastian, go to...
today at the U.N.
So today I received two compliments while serving hors d’oeuvres from 10 am until 7 pm.
“what a beautiful face you have! You’re lucky, mami”- this one came from a father who probably embarassed his teenage son standing right next to him.
“you look just like natalie portman” -one that i’ve gotten a few times before, but I don’t really see it.

things i learned while at the beach this weekend
i really hate the abbreviation of memorial day weekend as MDW.
no matter how much sunscreen I put on, I will inevitably get burnt in strange patterns.
i thoroughly enjoy card games.
children (ages 3-4) are hilarious and bring out the child in me.
really cold ocean water is extremely refreshing.
i don’t have good beach hair, but i can live with that.
i love love love BBQs.
i miss...
from "Eloisa to Abelard"
How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray’r accepted, and each wish resign’d; Labour and rest, that equal periods keep; “Obedient slumbers that can wake and weep;” Desires compos’d, affections ever ev’n, Tears that delight, and sighs that waft to Heav’n. Grace...
Clementine: I had you pegged, didn't I?
Joel: You had the whole human race pegged.
Clementine: Hmm. Probably.
Joel: I still thought you were gonna save my life... even after that.
Clementine: Ohhh... I know.
Joel: It would be different, if we could just give it another go-round.
Clementine: Remember me. Try your best; maybe we can.
SONIC boom.
so sitting in bed this thursday evening, tired from a day of work, I find myself thinking about food (of course) and in particular, sonic.
I had my first sonic experience about two weeks ago, but prior to that, I had pined for it ever since their marketing team came up with those damn commercials that make those ice cream shakes look so good! Since my first time, I returned back to the fine...
goodbye (an oxymoron, in my opinion)
“What I was really hanging around for, I was trying to feel some kind of a goodbye. I mean I’ve left schools and places I didn’t even know I was leaving them. I hate that. I don’t care if it’s a sad goodbye or a bad goodbye, but when I leave a place I like to know I’m leaving it. If you don’t, you feel even worse.”
-J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye
I’m re-reading this book...
may my heart always be open to little birds who are the secrets of living whatever they sing is better than to know and if men should not hear them men are old may my mind stroll about hungry and fearless and thirsty and supple and even if it’s sunday may i be wrong for whenever men are right they are not young and may myself do nothing usefully and love yourself so more than truly...
graduation
so today I graduate from Lehigh and move on to bigger and better things (more Lehigh…damn it). I don’t know why, but I’m nervous and all of this feels surreal. I can’t believe that college is over already but at the same time, I’m so ready to start a new chapter. I’ll miss the few people that I consider my friends, but I learned during senior week that I can...
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Bill: We gotta go. It's a history report, not a babe report.
Ted: But, Bill, those are historical babes.
my first bar mitzvah
So I work at the UN doing part-time catering sometimes and today was my first bar mitzvah. The parents spent well over 100 Gs on it.
Things I enjoyed about dylan’s bar mitzvah tonight:
vanessa williams, boomer esiason, and the weatherman from channel 11
little children entering the party while on their cell phones and acting like 30 year old dickheads.
the baseball and baseball...
those old navy mannequin commercials are so creepy. why do they keep doing them?

– The Wonder Years (via feathersandcream)
so i think i’ve mostly given up on guys (at least the lehigh ones). they relentlessly disappoint my friends and myself and like, what the hell? we’re cuter than you.
Note: this excludes my awesome guy friends

lehighvalley:
I figured there may come a point where the news gets so bland that I might be able to take a few days off, not write anything and just kind wait until something crazy came up and then I’d write about it and wait until the next super crazy thing came about a few days later and then I’d go ahead and make sure everyone knew about it.
Yeah, apparently the people who live in this area...
